Today, classic sightseeing, museum visits and travel guides often no longer fulfill what tourists are looking for. More and more travelers, but also locals, want to go on a thrilling journey of discovery in their travel destination or their hometown. In 2016, archaeobiologist Miriam Weberstorfer jumped on this trend and founded ArchäoNOW in Vienna: "Ever since I was a child, I've had a passion for puzzles and mysteries of the past," she says. A native of Upper Austria, she has been living in Vienna for over 10 years and has fallen in love with the city. This love for Vienna, science and education was also the cornerstone for the development of her scavenger hunt Vienna programs. Different tours lead the participants* to ancient Roman paths, through horror stories, the Viennese coffee house culture, past the highlights of the former imperial city.
